Crossing Borders

October 4-6, 2016

Once a year, NAS hosts ‘Crossing Borders: Seeking Safety’ – a pop-up exhibition that donates all proceeds to RACS (Refugee and Casework Service). In 2016, I volunteered to support the event which included supporting the install process and selling work on the floor during the event.

The Details

Crossing Borders – Seeking Safety

Crossing Borders is an annual, one night only, group fundraising exhibition project founded by STACKS Projects gallery director Amber Hearn in 2014 whilst completing her Honours degree at The National Art School, where all proceeds support RACS – Refugee Advice and Casework Service. I had the pleasure of volunteering on the install, set up and sales of works on the night.

Over 100 National Art School associated artists donate work to be sold on the night, with all funds going to RACS to continue their incredible work providing free legal services and support to people seeking asylum in Australia. This year the event raised an incredible $9225 for RACS.
